An award-winning journalist, author, executive educator, and keynote speaker, Dr. Sedef Kabaş has built an international career spanning journalism, academia, leadership development, and strategic communication. Throughout her career, she has championed the transformative power of communication—believing that the right words, delivered with authenticity and conviction, can shape organizations, influence societies, and inspire meaningful change.
Dr. Kabaş graduated with honors from Boğaziçi University with a degree in Political Science and International Relations before earning a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Television Journalism at Boston University. She later completed her Ph.D. in Journalism at Marmara University.
She made history as the first Turkish journalist to work at CNN International’s global headquarters in Atlanta, where she covered major political and economic developments across the Middle East, the Balkans, and Europe. Her report “Turkish Döner in Germany” received the CNN World Report Award for Best Business Story, establishing her as one of Turkey’s internationally recognized journalists.
Returning to Türkiye, Dr. Kabaş became one of the country’s most respected television journalists and interviewers. Across leading national broadcasters—including NTV, ATV, TV8, SKYTürk, TRT2, and Tele1—she hosted influential news and current affairs programs, conducting thousands of in-depth interviews with political leaders, business executives, academics, artists, and global thought leaders. Renowned for her meticulous preparation and incisive interviewing style, she earned a reputation as one of Turkey’s finest television interviewers.
Alongside her journalism career, Dr. Kabaş has devoted more than twenty-five years to executive education and leadership development. She has taught at Boğaziçi University, Bahçeşehir University, Kadir Has University, and Istanbul Kültür University, combining academic rigor with extensive real-world experience.
